Hi Vinny! Stealth sites are common in most industries and not just real estate. I agree that although it is touted as 'bad' it can be strategically used for lead generation. Successful contractor leads rely on the relevance of the site and its content. As such, a lead will be useless if the site visitor feels abused to give his or her information. It would totally disappoint the site visitor to be redirected to an unrelated site or be called by a salesman with a product that he does not need. I suggest business owners who use stealth to stick with their primary goal, which is to provide what the site visitor is looking for and be able to successfully strike a deal.

I agree with tommytx, too many agents have sites that fail to comply the board of realtors, but fail to comply with any sort of ethics.

I actually think it would be quite interesting if someone started a movement to get people to report companies / websites like you mention. I think it would be fantastic for the real estate industry as consumers would be gain a lot more confidence and trust in who they give their information to.

Personally, I don't see it happening anytime soon as there are way too many of these sites out there and many companies have infiltrated the Internet with these spammy lead generation sites. Hopefully this will change in the future. In the meantime, the best thing to do is to make your website that much better of a resource for consumers.

Switching gears, the plugin I am using is called Disqus. It is a fantastic comment system. Commenters can sign in with multiple options and can also subscribe via email or RSS to stay on top of replies and new comments for the post they commented on. I definitely recommend that you try it out.

Let me know if you have any other questions or need anything. I would be interested to get your take on Disqus as well if and when you decide to use it.

I agree with most that too many agents have sites out there that fail to comply not only with the board of realtors, but fail to comply with any sort of ethics either.
I wonder if we should be doing more to report the instances that we see… there are tons of sites out there advertising for real estate leads, and many are not even licensed realtors and have no idea what the board of realtors think… They are just in it for the lead and getttng paid.
I was real interested in what Lynda had to say about the comment.. do you get any real value from the chat button, but I guess she does not even know you answered…
Most of the blogs do not allow you to sign up for a response notification, so most of the time you never know you should return and re-comment. I think all blogs should have a button to check if you want to keep up with future comments on a subject.. Same as me.. I came across this blog by accident and may never find it again unless I get notified that a new comment has been made.. I will leave my email below but its unlikely the system is set up to notify… maybe there is a plug in.. for this… what the hell maybe i will write one myself.

On a different note, if you don't mind me asking, how is the “Push to Talk” feature working on your current website? Do you use it often or find visitors using it often?

We are thinking about doing an article on LiveChat technology for real estate marketing and I am curious to know if you're happy with what you current have.
