Top Real Estate Related iPhone Applications

With new advances in technology, searching for and finding real estate has never been easier! Mobile real estate marketing can make it easy for your clients to find your listings and will keep you on top of the marketing curve. There are 2 easy and necessary mobile marketing tools that every real estate professional should have: real estate apps that can be easily downloaded onto your cell and a mobile website.

Dotmobi is a top level domain that brings the internet to your phone. Purchasing a dotmobi domain can be very effective and beneficial for your website. For the past few years analysts have predicted that wireless will be the preferred communication choice for users around the world. Why not start creating a mobile site for your website?! A mobile site is a basic break down of your site in a much smaller version. It should be designed to upload quickly and should only provide the most important information that the searcher is looking for such as your contact information, featured properties and about you or your company.

There are numerous examples of great real estate apps that are making real estate browsing easier and more convenient on the go. You may have already noticed your real estate category on your iPhone filling with some of these useful apps. Of the top apps, there are 4 I will touch upon:

Trulia iPhone App
Pros: emphasis on open houses right on the home screen and a small map that depicts the location of the property.
Cons: The listing pages only offer 1 photo of the property and the search results weren’t organized or sorted by price or even distance.

StreetEasy Real Estate
Pros: Takes you directly to the search results as soon as you open it up. It’s also easy to refine the results and shows multiple photos and details for each listing.
Cons: The search results are sorted by price, so the most expensive real estate appears first until you customize your search.

HomeFinder
Pros: Gives you plenty of choices and options when refining a search and lists are drawn from Google Base, FSBO websites and feeds from several large MLS’s and brokerages.
Cons: Needs some improvement on data sources and crashes frequently with searches.

A la Mode XSites
Pros: Allows you to manage your real estate leads, set reminders for call backs and access your complete lead database.
Cons: Basically just upgraded the current web interface.

Mobile real estate marketing places you ahead of your competitors, provides your clients and/or potential clients with the information they want when they want it, while keeping your business ahead of the marketing and technology curve.

    Very interesting. Thanks for sharing.

Could you please send us examples of Real Estate website / company specific iPhone apps that clients of yours have created with your service?

We would love to share those with our readers and I am sure that they would be interested in checking them out.

Hi Megan. My business partner and I are developing apps for the real estate market as well. We have a unique solution for home buyers that helps them to determine which house is the right house for them. There are plenty of MLS search apps out there, some of which you covered. However, there is very little that helps customers decide which house is the right house for them. That is what we are trying to do with our app. We expect to launch is less than a month but have some early screenshots on our Facebook site for those that might be intersted. http://www.facebook.com/Cre8tiveApps

Please keep us updated on the launch Jay. We’d love to play around with it and help you promote if it is as good as you say it is ;)

Will certainly do that. We are pretty excited about it. I have shown it to some local realtors and had some email exchanges with others and feedback has been really good. We have even picked up a few fans of our FB page because of it.

We are exploring how to remotely distribute the beta version to reviewers so folks like yourselves could play around with it before launch and share your thoughts with readers. In the meantime, I hope the screenshots I posted on FB give you a pretty good feel for it. I just updated some photos today.

    Regards,
    Jay

    Hello Vinny,

Per your request, we think we are about a week away from submission. A couple of last bugs to work out and we should be able to submit. Would you guys be interested in testing it and writing a blog on it?

    Regards,
    Jay

    Hello Vinny,

It took a little longer to get our Business Developer account set up with Apple.  However, the App is done and we submitted our app to Apple this past week and are waiting for it to be approved.  From my research, from submission to approval takes 10-14 days.  Therefore, we are hoping it will be in iTunes by July 1st.

However, if you are interested in getting a beta copy for test, please email me at jay at cre8tiveapps dot com and we can work out how to get you the app prior to release.

    Regards,Jay
